Microsoft Research has created an AI teaching assistant called Shiksha Copilot to help Indian teachers. It helps them quickly make personalized lesson plans by using different types of content like text, images, and videos.

During testing, teachers were able to reduce their planning time from 60-90 minutes to just 60-90 seconds. Shiksha gives recommendations based on student needs, backgrounds, and spoken languages.

This raises the question: Can AI change education by providing customized lessons for each student? AI assistants like Shiksha show a better future for classrooms that benefit both students and teachers.

🤖Biden's sweeping order on AI safety.

President Biden has issued regulations on AI systems, requiring developers of higher-risk AI to share safety testing results with the government.

Federal agencies will set standards for responsible AI development, including labeling AI-generated content. The regulations aim to prevent discrimination by addressing bias in algorithms used in housing and benefits programs.

Critics argue that the regulations lack strong enforcement mechanisms and fail to address immediate threats like disinformation.

Balancing enforcement and innovation is key, but concerns remain about the impact and effectiveness of these regulations.
